Who are they?

The TCHI is an organisation leading the way in the development of Tai Chi exercise programs. Led by Dr Paul Lam and with the assistance of medical, tai chi and educational experts around the world, the TCHI has devised a number of exercise programs that use the slow, soft and simple movements of Tai Chi and QiGong.

Dr Paul Lam is an Australian Family Physician, Tai Chi Expert and World Leader in Tai Chi for Health. He has trained over 5,000 Tai Chi teachers and his programs are based on over 30 years of learning, research, tai chi philosophy and medical knowledge.

TCHI devise Tai Chi programs that are safe, easy to learn and effective methods of low impact exercise that can improve the overall health and well-being of program participants. The programs have a standard class design, format and structure that have been taught successfully over many years, and to thousands of participants worldwide.

TCHI Instructor Training is organised, structured and professional, with instructors being well supported via regular workshops, updates and continuous professional development.

Why choose TCHI?

TCHI Tai Chi for Health exercise programs are highly regarded worldwide. Many of the benefits of their programs have been recognised across the globe by a number of organisations and foundations.

For example, in the USA, its Centre of Disease Control and Control (CDC) recommends and promotes the TCHI Tai Chi for Arthritis program for fall prevention and its Administration on Aging (AoA) rates the Tai Chi for Arthritis program as the highest evidence based program for older adults for health and wellness.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is an enjoyable exercise and studies have shown it to be effective in improving hypertension, cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, balance, joint mobility and flexibility, as well as relieving pain and stress. It is slow, gentle and simple flowing movements that coordinate arm and leg moves into a sequence or ‘form’.

What is Tai Chi for Arthritis & Falls Prevention?

The Tai Chi For Arthritis and Falls Prevention program has been specifically designed for those people suffering from arthritic or joint pain and stiffness but it can be practised by anyone, any age or fitness level.

Dr Lam’s program utilises Sun Style Tai Chi which is an upright, small and solid base technique. All the movements have been modified to ensure that they are safe to perform and there are seated versions so that anyone can join in.

I have been trained by a TCHI Master Trainer in order to instruct and deliver this program effectively.  The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention program is great, effective and enjoyable and I am excited to share it with you.

What is Tai Chi for Rehabilitation?

The Tai Chi For Rehabilitation program has been specifically designed as an aid to recovery from ill health. Almost anyone can learn this empowering program to help recover from conditions such as stroke, heart disease, injury, surgical procedure, tiredness or stress.

This is a very gentle, low impact Tai Chi Form which utilises Yang, Sun and Chen Style Tai Chi. It has been designed to help improve the health and wellness of people during and after their rehabilitation and recovery. Additionally it delivers all the other benefits to our mind, body and soul that any Tai Chi practice does.

I was fortunate to gain my coaching in this Tai Chi program directly from the TCHI founder Dr Paul Lam.

What is Tai Chi for Energy?

The Tai Chi For Energy program has been designed to unleash the power of Tai Chi and help you acquire better health and wellness.

Dr Lam’s program combines Sun and Chen Style Tai Chi with QiGong making this unique form a fusion of soft, slow, strong and inner energy movements . All the movements have been modified to ensure that they are safe to perform and there are seated versions so that anyone can join in.

My Instructor training was delivered by a TCHI Master Trainer and I am excited to share it with you.
