CORPORATE AND WORKPLACE WELL-BEING

Many organisations are looking into their Staff Welfare in order to develop a more formal system to look after their staff, their physical health, mental health, happiness, contentment and well-being.

Tai Chi and QiGong to stay fit, healthy and active can be a real asset as part of any Corporate or Workplace Well-Being Programme.

TAI CHI & QIGONG FOR CORPORATE AND WORKPLACE WELL-BEING

Firstly, they are fantastic low impact exercise methods that can be performed by anyone, any age and fitness level.

Secondly, they are a simple way of moving our bodies, in a gentle, low impact way. They help participants to get and stay active, build strength, flexibility, balance and coordination which will help in everyday life.

Thirdly, with their origins firmly associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine, they are holistic, self healing exercises that deliver a sense of calm, peace and relaxation to each participant. This makes them a very effective stress relief when practised on a regular basis.

Daphne from Freshfield Fitness was very helpful and understanding of our members health condition and was able to tailor her session accordingly. Conducting a session with over 80 people in attendance at our Conference last year was very impressive and our members were very pleased with the outcome!’

‘We did 2 days of Tai Chi as a start to our IT Virtual Community event in July 2021. Some had their cameras on whilst others preferred to not be on camera. The movements were new to all of us. We liked the gentle yet controlled nature of the movements, coached by Daphne, combined with gentle breathing. Many of the attendees said they felt a lot calmer and a sense of elation.
One attendee said “it was very relaxing and now counts towards my 30 minutes of exercise for the day.”

We hope to weave in an in-person session with Daphne at a future event.

‘Daf offered FREE taster Tai chi sessions during our health and wellness event for members of the community. The session was open, relaxed and very engaging. Everyone in the room, whether they were sitting or standing got involved, which is testament to Daf. All feedback was really positive, with some even considering Tai Chi as a lifestyle change.

‘I stumbled across Daphne from Freshfield Fitness on social media and was delighted when she accepted my offer to take part in our workplace wellness programme. Daphne delivered a series of Tai Chi & Qigong classes and the feedback from all attendees was very positive. I was personally only able to attend 1 of the classes, which I found really enjoyable and perfect for a relaxing lunchtime session. Daphnes knowledge and enthusiasm for Tai Chi is wonderful and her passion for teaching these classes is clearly abundant. Hopefully we will try Tai Chi again soon!

‘To Daphne at Freshfield Fitness – A HUGE thank you again for coming in to teach our children over the last two weeks. All staff involved and the children (aged between 5 and 9) loved it. Your enthusiasm for Tai Chi was infectious and it was a great opportunity to teach the children how to connect their minds, bodies and their breathing! It was a really new skill for lots of the children and they found it challenging and rewarding at the same time. We all left your sessions feeling relaxed and uplifted. We look forward to having you back to Redgate very soon. Many thanks.’
